Global Health Innovation Policy Program

Facing COVID-19 crisis, we are here to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. In particular it is important to address healthcare resources and policies to prepare against health emergency crisis, through building a resilient global community.
GHIPP is organizing Global Dialogue on Health Security for strengthening global partnership through sharing knowledge and lessons learned and creating a new regional community for health resilience. Having a series of online speakers' sessions, the project focuses on building collaborative Asia-US-Japan platform for knowledge & experience sharing, and discusses how to best prepare and lead dealing with future health crises.

Tsukasa Ohbayashi, Senior Staff Writer and Leader Writer, NIKKEI

Tsukasa Ohbayashi joined Nikkei Inc in 1984. After working at the News Editing Department (Tokyo Head Office) and the Chiba bureau, he worked at the Economic News Department (Tokyo Head Office), covering mainly the press clubs of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (now the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry); Bank of Japan; the Economic Planning Agency; and the Ministry of Health and Welfare (now the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare).

Ohbayashi served as a deputy editor of Economic News Department, and then as senior staff writer and leader writer, writing editorials and columns on economic policies, such as taxation, finance, social security, and regulatory reforms.

After that, he worked in London as a senior staff writer of the Editorial Headquarters for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and reported structural issues in Europe, such as BREXIT. He had been the Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Headquarters for Europe, Middle East and Africa before taking up the current role of senior leader writer.

Ohbayashi also serves Distinguished Professor, Keio University.
