 A wide range of people, from regional and provincial governors and vice-governors to young, managerial level public officials, come from many different countries to undertake training programs to deepen their understanding of local governance in Japan.

  • Senior Executive Development Program (SEDP)

Workshop&Symposium

 We implement the Senior Executive Development Program in response to a request from OCSC (Office of the Civil Service Commission), Thailand. The training program is targeted at officials of provincial governor or vice-governor class, and in addition to lectures from GRIPS staff, participants make visits to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the National Governors’ Association and local government offices in Japan. During the program, they study local governance, decentralization, administrative reform and regional and local promotion, and draw up action plans.

Workshop&Symposium

 Responding to a request from OCSC, Thailand, GRIPS implemented a Middle Management Long Training Program (MMLP) for the Interior Ministry, Royal Kingdom of Thailand, and is cooperating in the training of heads of local governments and young, managerial level public officials from central government ministries in Thailand. Cooperating in training is also being carried on for officials from Korea and China.
