Topic “Researching Southeast Asia: Area Studies amid Disciplinary Challenges”

The workshop is designed for PhD students and junior researchers. In the morning session, the three veteran editors will share their experience in writing academic papers and editing journals and books. In the afternoon session, we discuss the challenges of balancing area studies and disciplinary approaches. Although the case studies are based on Southeast Asian issues, the lessons and implications are applicable elsewhere.
