Mikitaka Masuyama is a political science professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) and has served as Dean and Executive Vice President of GRIPS. He also serves as a visiting professor on the faculty of law at Keio University. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Michigan.


His current research focuses on representative democracy, with a particular interest in the workings of the separation of legislative powers, the development of parliamentary procedures and practices, and understanding and utilization of parliamentary information.
