Teaching
Welcome to my website.
I am an assistant professor at the National Graduate Research Institute
for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo.
My areas of interest include the inter-relationships between public policies,
institutions, and family well-being in developed and developing countries.
In particular, my current research agenda include corruption, targeting
and the distribution of public resources; the impact of poverty alleviation
programs on labor market activities, income and welfare; causes and consequences
of rural-urban migration; and the relationship between childcare arrangements
and family well-being.
I teach the PhD level course in Advanced Development Economics and
the Master's courses in Advanced Development Research I, II, and III at GRIPS.
