Professor Yuqing Xing, Ph.D

Dr. Yuqing Xing is a Professor of Economics and the Director of Asian Economic Policy at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo. He was a Professor and the Director of International Development Program, International University of Japan.


Dr. Xing had been a Visiting Senior Research Fellow of East Asian Institute at the National University of Singapore; a Visiting Research Fellow of the Bank of Finland; a Sabbatical Fellow of the World Institute for Development Economics Research (Helsinki) and a Visiting Professor of the Institute for Advanced Studies, both at the United Nations University; and a Visiting Research Fellow of the Research Center of China Galaxy Securities Company (Beijing).


Dr. Xing has provided consulting services to Asian Development Bank and Asian Development Bank Institute.


Dr. Xing obtained his Ph.D in economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, and M.A and B.A. from Peking University, China.


Dr. Xing`s research focuses on trade, exchange rates, FDI and regional economic integration. His has published numerous research papers in internationally refereed journals.


Dr. Xing has been awarded research grants three times consecutively by Japan Society for Promotion of Science since 2004.
